The San Diego River Foundation invited me to photograph a couple of their Discovery Days Events this year.

They learned of the beauty and role that our California Native Plants play in the river's ecology.

Next, they learned about the watershed and what affects it.

Of course searching for water bugs was a highlight of the day.  Each student was able to examine these tiny creatures in in petri dishes, as well as study them under a microscope.

All in all, it was a fantastic morning as these curious fourth graders learned about the river as one of our greatest natural resources in San Diego.
